Oh baby! We have a healthy Miss or Mister on the way and we are so excited! This is our sweet little person at 21 2/7 weeks showing off some pretty kissable lips :) We have decided not to find out what's brewing in there until the big arrival, so this little one has gotten some nick names... Adam has called it "Gremlin" for the wild way it kicks and squirms in my belly ( We even have an Ultrasound video of it looking like it was trying to head butt it's way out of my belly!) I've called it bug, little bun and sprout especially in the early days and we keep catching ourselves calling baby "He" or "Him" not that we have a clue what it is just that it slips out sometimes ( I think there is a little wishful thinking on Adam's part there ;) Mostly it's "the person" here lately since it's definitely letting it's personality be known. It's a wild kicker, and pretty punctual with 6am kicks that I think are saying "wake-up it's time for Coca Puffs!" Ya' it's the baby that dig's the Coca Puffs....
It's a little bit of a show off, during the Ultrasound it was showing off every chamber of it's heart for the Ultrasound Tech, he said it's rare that you get such good pictures and measurements of all of the baby structures but that the baby was showing them off on Que! Oh and it's a pretty friendly baby, even threw a good kick for the Ultrasound Tech knocking his probe and having him saying "Whoa I felt that!" My favorite thing about this kid-o so far is that health wise our little sprout has checked out every step of the way always measuring on time (to the day!) passing all lab tests with flying colors, and having a strong healthy heartbeat from 6 weeks on :) Which has been anywhere from the 160's very early on and has settled now into about the 140's. We are so happy and excited to have our healthy little baby on the way! This fall is going to be absolutely amazing!!
This was a little exploration trip for the baby on it's great grandparents property at about 20 weeks.
My friend Angela and I get to be prego together! We are about 8 weeks apart, and she is expecting a sweet baby girl :) No matter what we have cooking I know these two buns are going to be great friends.
I thought we would start documenting my growth with my 12 weeks "Thanksgiving stuffed" look
But Adam, well he had me beat! Haha
These are some of the fun ways we shared our good news with close friends! We had these little cakes brought out at the end of a meal with a group of Adam's close high school friends. It was so fun to see their faces! Tristan swears he totally knew but I'm pretty sure Vince was eating cake before he entirely knew what the heck was going on! I'm so lucky Adam has such amazing friends with good taste because their wives have become great friends to me too and I loved sharing with them!
Having worked in the Birth center for 8 years (yikes!) has made it so I have a little pseudo family at the hospital, so I loved tucking these into our menu's for a girls work dinner night!
Proud Papa! Adam has been such an amazing Dad already! He's been busting his butt on a baby room remodel and still has time to cook dinner (after switching to 12 hour shifts I don't get home until after 8 which has him in charge on work days:( He's been so wonderful, this hasn't been the easiest of roads but he's been there every step of the way.
My first little reminder that I get to be a Mommy! Libby was so kind and gave us a little congrats gift including this little Dr.Suess book, 'Are you my Mother?' which I put on our dresser. I see it every day and it makes me smile :)
December 28th we got our amazing news!!!!!!
....and then we left for Sun River for New years :/ How in the world was I going to keep our good news under wraps for a New Years mini vaca with Justin and Katie and Tristan and Alicia?!! Somehow it all worked out but wow was it close a few times!
Future best bud's! Bucker has been really attached to my belly almost from day 1. I'm convinced animals totally know when their family has this kind of change. I hope the transition goes smoothly when there is a new baby of the family!
It's so crazy to watch this little bug grow!!
Here are some nursery colors and idea's we are looking at. All we know for sure is that we are going to do Orange and grey in the nursery for now and once the sprout makes it's arrival we can add some hot pink accents if it's a girl ( We like Colton and Rachel's taste! Haha) or some Navy blue if it's a boy. This Mobile from Etsy kind of helped me to decide that my Sis was right and we could do gender neutral and color instead of just doing beige and accenting later. We plan to paint some Grey and white horizontal strips on the wall hopefully in the next few weekends!
I love this for boy crib colors!
Here is the beginnings of the baby's room!
I loved this tiny picture from our Ultrasound at 14 weeks :) Cutest little bun, but I'm pretty partial!
And there are some little baby feet! Baby is crossed at the ankles just relaxing! Adam checked for the Reynolds Mortons toe, the jury is still out on that one!
Here is what our little baby's ticker sounds like!
